Bharati Vidyapeeth University – College of Ayurved was started in the year 1990 with an ambition to rejuvenate the most ancient medical science of India by the Hon’ble founder Dr. Patangrao Kadam.

The college of Ayurved is constituent unit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) which is recognized by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine [NCISM-former CCIM] & Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi.

It is Re-accredited ‘A+’ Grade by National Assessment Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bangalore.

The College of Ayurved is located in the Dhankawadi Educational Complex of Bharati Vidyapeeth. The college has well-designed building accommodates well-equipped laboratories, dissection lobby, spacious demonstration halls, museums, classrooms and library with a reading hall and internet facility.

The college conserves an herbal garden having more than 298 medicinal plants species. Few endangered herbal species are seen here. The states of art equipments are installed in the pharmacy to manufacture variety of classical Ayurvedic preparations.

The College owns a NABH accredited Ayurvedic Hospital with 200-bed strength and a huge number of patients flows in OPDs & IPDs, facilitating better clinical exposure to students.

Courses at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Ayurved

Bharati Vidyapeeth University – College of Ayurved offer full-time undergraduate BAMS course with intake capacity of 100 students, and Ayurved Vachaspati (M.D Ayurved) & Ayurved Dhanvantari (M.S Ayurved) course in the fourteen specialties with intake capacity of 57 students. College is also conducting Ph.D. course in all 14 departments.

Recently the college started a one-year Diploma Course in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences is started, wherein students get training of treatment of various kinds of Natural remedies and yogic practices.

Facilities at Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Ayurved

The College of Ayurved has all the mandatory infrastructure facilities as specified in the norms of NCISM-former CCIM.

1. Infrastructure

The college building is segmented in well-ventilated Classrooms with LCD facility, spacious departments with state-of-art-laboratories and museums, Ladies room, Boy’s room, Conference Hall etc. Entire College building is Under CCTV Surveillance.

2. Library

The College houses a spacious and peaceful library with OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility have more than 22,600 books ranging from thousands of years old classics up to latest editions of modern medical volumes including National and International journals.

3. Herbal Garden

The College boasts a well – planned herbal garden with more than 1200 medicinal plants which includes 298 species and several extinct and rare species of flora.

4. Pharmacy

In house Ayurved Pharmacy unit in the college manufactures approximately ‘100’ formulations which are used in our hospital itself. Advanced analytical laboratory is also attached to this unit to ensure the quality and standard of medicine.

5. Ayurved Hospital

200 Bedded NABH accredited Registered Hospital (Day care facility, Diet therapy, Luxurious residential facility) Panchakarma Therapies for Weight management, Relaxation therapy, Yoga therapy, Leech therapy etc. Ayurvedic management for Paralysis, Skin disorders, cardiovascular disorders.

In order to get BAMS Admission at Bharati Vidyapeeth University – College of Ayurved Pune, you need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH – Govt. of India New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have passed the 12th (10 + 2) standard with science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) or any other examination recognized as equivalent to same and with English as one of the languages.

You must have achieved minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate of the relevant science subject (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) of the 12th standard examination.

Minimum age for admission is 17 years on or before 31st December in the year of admission for the First BAMS course. NEET is compulsory for NRI students too.

Admission Process

Admissions to BAMS course in Bharati Vidyapeeth University – College of Ayurved on the merit basis obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).
